  • Do MK4 or MK5 steering wheels fit MK3s?

    Hey Guys,
Anyone know if MK4 or MK5 airbag steering wheels fit on a MK3? Getting dam sick of this tired old wheel in the VR6 and need to find something else that will fit.

nope. the only newer one that fits is from the mark 4 cabriolet. Which is actually more of a Mk 3.5 cos its just a dressed up version of the mk3

Would be nice to put one on I reckon, the r32 steering wheels are alot thicker and they just feel so cool I think

I was about to ask the same question

Sick of the MK3 wheel and was kinda hoping a newer one would fit, and the chances of finding a MK4 Cab wheel is pretty slim I reckon!

Wish they didnt have damn airbags so I could fit up my lovely Nardi wheel Not going to risk it using a non Airbag wheel :-\

There is an aftermarket Raid airbag steering wheel that will fit, but at 400 euros plus postage I think i'll give it a miss!

The Raid items are very expensive and everyone knows it. They're just about the only aftermarket airbag wheels really.

Mk3.5 Cabrio steering wheels are a popular swap. Check out Vortex, there's a lot of Mk3 owners doing it.

They must be judging by the price for one on offer on this very forum

Mate its a fair price seeing as they fetch $300 USD with the airbag and you will prob never see one up for sale here. Its certaintly heaps cheaper than the 400 euros and looks way better i say

We'll have to agree to disagree then, I think $500 for any second hand wheel is way too much.

I've seen airbags go on ebay for around $50-60 second hand. I don't have any desire to argue, just my opinion, surely I'm entitled to that?

                              no-ones arguing its all cool.
At the end of the day a second hand item is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
