I knew of a bloke in Queanbeyan that had some kind of fancy device that looked like an electric welder that could "disintigrate" studs without harming the parent metal they were stuck in. Dammed if I ever understood how it worked, but even though he charged a lot he was very popular when all the standard "tricks of the trade" had failed.
But I think the big angle grinder is much more spectacular. "Why use an ordinary hammer if you can get a 15 Kg sledgehammer in there ?"
