If your prepared to put in the effort to restore a set of used wheels that's the way to go in my opinion. You'll be happier in the long run. Alternatively save until you can get what you want because you'll probably get over the reps and then that's money wasted and they won't hold the value of real wheels. Just my 2 cents. I'm 18 by the way so totally understand where your coming from.
I don't know whether i have the time to restore wheels, or the knowledge for that matter.

    I am also incredibly impulsive.

as Anthony said, don't rush into it, i was the same, in fact we were all probably the same back when..... buy up all the cheap stuff but you soon realise that the most expensive way is the cheapest way...... keep it quality, you won't regret it....

I did mine pretty quickly. they aren't great took about 2 weeks of whenever I felt like doing it / had time.

Depending on what your after like KI11Z said there's some nice OEM mk4 wheels and stuff. If your after low offsets and or width though then you'll have to go aftermarket. Or maybe just some spacers on OEM would look nice.

I've found you can't be too impulsive on wheels because your going to want to make sure they fit the way you want. Just all some food for thought.

How hard is it to put VR6 hubs onto a Gl?

I have some sitting around and i was wondering is it worth the effort.

Put some effort in this afternoon,

finally got around to taking the badge off.

                I have now gone from

                to

I personally think it looks fresh.

I also got a lovely letter with the start of my sticker collection in it,

                Also selfie, hehe.

Are there any other MCM fans on the forums?

                              Don't buy fake wheels!

Yahoo! (go on google chrome so it's translated) and jesse@jessestreeter.com :: Anything from Japan; Faster & Cheaper — Jesse Streeter to ship it here

                              or

Import Monster | Japanese Cars, Parts and more via Online Japanese Auctions | Yahoo Auctions Japan in English

search for BBS RS in whatever offset/width/size you're looking for. If you're patient, something will pop up. I've heard of people getting sets for $600 shipped from Japan. I was looking into this for a little while but ended up buying some other wheels instead. Refurbing isn't hard with a little bit of time and effort. Just talk to some guys on here about what needs to be done.

Yeah, I'm not going down the path of rs's. I think they've been over done. So many cars with them.
