mk3 5 stud narrow track conversion

I've researched this too much to even warrant this thread but before I go spending money I just want to make sure,

is it possible to press 5 stud hubs into 4 stud carriers and redrill my brake discs to 5x100? Do I need to swap my current outer CV joints for the 5 stud hub, or are the two hubs the same?

obviously I'm always going to have to redrill brake discs in the future but I'm not fussed.

Yeah I've seen the kit that ecs tuning does, but I've had bad experience with those guys and dont really feel like giving them my money and I'm trying to do this as cheap as possible. (without being dodgy)

any help from the Gods would be greatly appreciated.

5x100 hubs and new wheel bearings are all you need at the front.

5x100 disc (VR) and bearings are all you need at the rear.

there are a few ways of doing it. I think this is the best, cause you buy a nw hub rather than multidrilling teh 4stud hub, which i'm slightly unsure about.

Sorry to bump this up, but I just started the conversion. VR6 hub splines are completely different to 2.0L hub splines, meaning my 2.0L driveshafts don't work in the new 5x100 hubs.

So I'm gonna grab some vr6 driveshafts, remove the outer CV's and throw them on my driveshafts, retaining the narrow track.

I'd say that's because he got the conversion hubs off ECStuning. Anywho I just ordered 2 vr6 outer CV's so I can swap em over.
