Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Engine mounts/bushes and big orange gear bush

Hi all in Golf 3 land .
Realy having trouble finding new replacement engine mounts /bushes on line .mk3 1995 cab ADY 2L manual . Now its not the three main cylindrical ones that every man and his dog seem to list when you hit search , its the round ones attaching the front of the engine ie drivers side and the back/gearbox ie passenger side to the body , 1eo199133a and 1eo199733a Vag part numbers for all the anoracks out there .How hard could it be , not even emails and photos to the usual suspects , Gsf etc have saved me. Please can someone out there stop me from the ultimate crime of having to go into my local VAG dealer and pay top dollar for genuine parts , cant believe i cant find a non gen parts listing !
Just got a "mk3 comprehensive gear linkage repair kit" that isnt , appears they dont come with the large flexable orange bush at the gearbox end , its the one thing that seems obvious and crucial !Anyone else had the same issue .Some searching surgests that the bush in the mk 1/2 kit is the same , any ideas before i send to the motherland for one .
    Thanks all .

The cabrio has additional mounts the tintops don't get. Have a look here:

    GermanAutoParts.com

They seem to have them. Third one down and second from the bottom.

No worries. These guys and ECS Tuning seem to be the best of the US sites. I have bought from both and found ECS to be a bit cheaper on freight.

Just ran the mounts past the local vag dealer to see if they can match the price , they are realy good as thier dealership is next to our dealership and i always get trade , its always the postage that can seal a deal ive found especialy from the US. Just love the aussie dollar at the moment though . Ecs looks a good site , lots of ideas and paypalable .
