  • VR6 AAA project

Got a project on the go that I'm starting to lose interest in. The initial plan was a full rebuild, lower compression, 83mm heads and about 12-15psi intercooled.. then just drop the whole lot into my current VR6..
So i got a spare 2.8L VR6 AAA engine sitting on a stand. Gathering up the motivation for a top end rebuild, then i think.. mmmm whats the point of just another rebuild, wouldn't it be AWESOME if.

and that's as far as i get..
    any ideas?

You did a rear mounted rear wheel drive conversion. That would be AWESOME!

Start with just building a turbo VR6 . Its extremely expensive to do as it is . Anything else will just be an insane amount of money/engineering . There is a big reason why there isnt many VR6Ts in Aus !

when I get the money I think I'll build a fully "built" 3.0L vr6 with big cams and a supercharger, to be a bit different. Big turbo vr6's have an unusable amount of power anyway

Man stock manifolds look good polished up and they are just tidy! i love my shrick but its not as nice/smooth to look at! its going to be ported at some point and painted a different colour but it just doesnt look as neat as the stock one with the leads clipped in and everything..

anyway i think you should try and build a turbo vr6 as Bug_Racer said its not cheap id allow at least 10-12k just for the motor build but it will most likely cost more..

thats what im planning on doing i have a spare head that im about to start working on myself..

                            Go forced induction
Theres only 1 turbo vr thats known in aus, possably 1 or 2 unknown
An 3 known supercharged ones an possably another 1 or 2 unknown.
I dont know if u know but standard vr motors can run turbos but they dont last long, just upgrade some of the main things an it'll last.
