Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

There's no 'set' price when it comes to resprays, as there are just so many variables. Somtimes it really is worth spending 1 or 2K more, to make sure its done by someone that will take the time and care and make sure the final product is 100% top notch. Alot of "smash repair" places wont be as interested in doing resprays as it's not the bulk of thier work. (generalisation)

As for colour, I think the windsor blue is a really cool colour (as you can see in bens pics). I think if you were to tweak the pearl and bring out that really light blue in the metallic it would look really cool. Having said that, a good painter should be able to look at it and 'jazz it up' appropriately.

Full colour change is too much work, well, alot of work!

Red shouldn't fade if you take care of it!

(which hopefully you would do, if you were going to fork out a few $$$ on new paint)

My good mate is a 3rd year spray painter & he thinks red is one of the best colours to buff out and make lovely!
