need some rim advice

hey guys so finally after spending much money and time getting my newly purchased VR6 back to good running order its time to dress her up a bit. i have found the perfect rims but as they are non refundable once ordered i need to know they will fit, dementions are as follows, 17s 9"wide with 35 posative camper. yay or nay?

assume you mean +35 offset...

you'd be pushing it with 17x9 front.
Zale runs 17x8.5, not sure what Devin has but he must be close...

If you have to ask the question id avoid it to be honest.

I remember buying rims for my VR6 and they wouldn't clear the factory caliper, needed 5mm spacer.( can't remember the dimensions)
You may need to do the same. Safest way is to buy local and do a fit.

9's can be done, but likely with a lower offset. Also depends on how low you want to go, etc, etc, etc.

imo, if you want to go wide, drop down to 16's, it just looks better........ 99% of the time brake clearance is down to wheel design more so than offset...... any more info on said wheels? perhaps some of us could advise a little better.....

Im with K1LLZ ^ i run 17x8.5 all round and its good but i dont think id go bigger on 17's. you can run 16x9 on the rear easily with +20 or +15 im pretty sure Devin runs 17x9 et 20 and Jarred's Schmidt's are 16x9 et 15 from memory...

As for the front im not sure on the offsets.. you run into problems when you go low with coilovers because of the spring seat my 8.5s dont clear at my height although im very low for 17's the only way i clear is because of the stretch on my tyres i run 205/40's which is what you'd have to run on 9's i wouldn't recommend any other size tyre really, Bigger wont fit under the guards if you're low and you cant safely go smaller.

Id run a 15 or 20mm spacer on the rear, As for the front im not really sure it all depends on height and whatnot.

16's would be better imo go 16x9 all round itll be cool!

Hey ive kinda got the same ideas, ive got a GL and im looking to get a set of wheels, i was looking at 16x8's with a +20 offset, would that work? i havent done anything to it as yet, so it sits at stock ride height but hopefully it will be lowered after the wheels and what would be a good tyre size if i was to stretch them? 185's perhaps? oh and one final thing is it safe/legal to stretch your tyres? like can the whole tyre still touch the road? sorry this is my first car and im still learning the ropes :/

16x8's would be perfect because you can still get a decent size tyre on it and hardly have to worry about scrub. Id go a 195/45 or a 205/40. Yeh it's safe as long as you don't go too much stretch id try and stick with 205/40. It will look abit silly until its lowered. That offset should fit nice and flush at the rear and maybe poke slightly at the front but a little camber and it should sit flush at te frOnt too.

Theres a lot of room to squeeze a lot of wheel in there if you get your offsers right, I'll likely be running 9s up front and 10's in the back when I get around to finishing my wheels Although I think you have to be pretty low to make really wide wheels look nice. If I was static and at a "legal" height I would probably rock some 17x8 or something.

here's my story: im running (well almost) 16x9 +15 offset Kerscher carmona rims all around with 10mm spacers up front which adds to +5 Offset on the fronts. im having tyre size problems because i want to run 205 40s anything bigger wont tuck and need to roll the guards.
