  • room for redrill?

what do you reckon guys, is this 5x114.3 redrillable to 5x100?

I thought there was no way when i first saw it but then after seeing something like this it seems possible..

can't take it to a machine shop and check as it's not mine atm.. for now..

It's possible, but you will have troubles getting the centrecap to thread on and removing too. You'll be limited to smaller lugs too as it will be tricky to fit a regular socket on. I use those deep sockets with a coloured protector sleeve on them, and I had to remove the sleeve in order to get the socket on. Ended up scratching the sides of the bolt hole as it was a tight fit, but I guess with the waffle plate on, you can't see it.

Why do you want to redrill anyway? Planning on putting on bigger lips? Size of that wheel looks good for adapters.

checked the specs with offset calculator and comes out pretty good for fronts and rears so don't wanna ruin it with adapters. Just found out the back might be scalloped.. guess it's impossible now?

        its' not ideal no.

that offset does look good for adapters.

If that back isn't flatbacked you can't do a straight redrill.

it is possible to do a fill and drill, but this is WAY more expensive than if they were flatback, and possibly more expensive than getting adapters.

Centrebore is the biggest concern when looking at redrills. I have heard that anything greater than a 70mm CB will be difficult to redrill to a 100 pattern. You should confirm this with your local wheel/engineering machine shop first.

run adapters.... my 8 +35 looked weak to me so another 10mm in would look poor imo..... a +25 is a comfortable offset on an 8 i think.... I wouldn't feel comfortable running those wheels above :/

Well after taking a ruler out to my car, looks like i overestimated the stock offset and you guys are right They would be pretty damn good with adapters. Where should I be looking for adapters and how much should I expect to pay? I'm too scared to get the dodgy looking ones from ebay..

Also, found out they are scalloped so redrilling is out. The centre bore is 60mm, would I need hubcentric rings?

Get onto adaptec for adapters. they're a US company that's very renowned for thier quality work.

the adapters will be customed made to suit the wheels (ie stud pattern, CB, bolt size & dia etc)

From memory they're around 400-450 landed (AUD), but this is depending on what the greenback is doing.

20mm adapters should work well, but do a bit more research and look at some 'offset/specs' pics, to give you a better idea of what look you want to achieve, and there for what specs you'll need.

Does adaptec have a website? Or should I be ordering through Wheel Adapters, Wheel Spacers, Hub Rings, and much more! | Motorsport Tech ?

thanks heaps for the replies so far, really keen on these wheels now

600 for a set of 4 doesn't seem worth it, especially when it's as much as the wheels ! motorsport-tech charges $100 for international shipping and about $65 per adapter (just looked at any 25mm on their site to get a rough idea)

That's the one b0k1. I've ordered numerous sets from them and currently own two of them. Very good value (last set I bought were ~$300-$350AUD shipped). Can be a tad slow but should be expected as they make it specifically for the customer, not just off-the-shelf.

Motorsport tech owns adaptec now I'm fairly sure so yeah thats probably the right site. Adapters aren't awfully cheap but then again neither is redrilling if its not straight forward. If you're still considering redrilling them get onto a place called "wheel revolution" in slacks creek and they'll let you know if it can be done and how much it would cost and such.

adaptec ones should only be $350ish landed as Ray said.
should be able to plug and drill around those, but the centre cap thread may or mayno stuff as others have said

i see.. just in the process of ordering to check the exact price of the adapters, should I be selecting hub centric to hub OR hub centric to hub and wheel? the wheels have a centre bore of 60mm

edit: can only choose hub centric and wheel centric for the adapters.. but the minimum size is 35mm! this can't be right
