  • Mid clutch swap problem - what am i missing?

    Hey,

So my old clutch was slipping very badly, which made sence when I pulled it out to find it worn down to nothing, but im having issues now trying to put it back together. This is the first time I've tried to do a clutch swap.

I put in the new clutch kit and threw the transmission back on, but when I pull the clutch lever I can pull it the entire way with no resistance, and when it gets to the end can here something hitting something, presumably the pushrod hitting the release plate. I pulled it all out again and checked everything and everything seems to be in right. What could I be missing? I need to get this car back on the road tomorrow, I'm in toowooma using the parents garage and need to get back down to brisbane tomorrow.

    Cheers,
    Ben

Have you got the clutch disc in the right way around?

Think so. It's in the way the bentley says, which is for a 2.0, so unless my 1.8 is different or something?

Actually I think it's alright, my clutch cable is just like slack. Never mind me. Was just freaking out because this morning I put everything back in to find id done something wrong which was a waste of a day, and it seemed to be happening again this time
