sunroof question

Hey Guys,

Ok so who knows whether you can swap a euro spec glass sunroof for the Australian version that the vr6 came with (which is solid)? Anyone know?

Not sure, I've got a sunroof on mine but was told that none of the aussie vr6's actually had genuine vw sunroof's installed.

Do you have a VW badged sunroof?

from what i recall no VR6 had sunroofs fitted when landed in AUS, they were fitted by VW after the cars had landed.
mines got the solid sunroof too so no help there

As above. Never seen a genuine roof on a local MK3.

My old MK3 had a locally fitted Golde branded sunroof from memory of which there were no new parts available for anymore. Most places were able to dodgy up repairs from old pieces they had stashed away though.

The other issue was that the sunroof aperture was bigger than most new sunroof models so replacing it with a newer one was going to be a challenge. So yeah it would probably be possible to retrofit a genuine roof but you would need to ensure the existing hole isnt bigger!
