  • My Vento

Hey guys, Im currently driving a 1995 Vento. It has coilovers, but they are sitting on the bump stops and as a result there is absolutely no play or movement. I got talking to a guy this weekend and mentioned that i would like it lower, and he suggested cutting the bump stops or even removing them completely, as well as removing the helper spring. My question is this; Will cutting or even removing the bump stops, cause much damage in the long run? anyone with past experiences or knowledge? thanks everyone

I wouldn't completely remove the bumpstops mate. If you are low enough you can will be bottoming out on the shock itself which isn't the best thing. But if you cut the bumpstop in half you can gain a little extra travel.

remove the helpers before cutting the bump stops, chances are that alone will be enough.... i'm the opposite, my coils are too low in the rear even fully raised....swaps??

bought the car from robin, the rear left suspension was completely stuffed when i bought it so i got coilovers from over seas. Reasonably sure they are Bilsteins, but it was a while ago so not 100%

pretty sure you'd know if you paid for billies because the price would be double that of the cheaper makes....

HTs should get you silly low. Stus vento was basically on the deck and still road ok.
few of the other boys have HTs in mk3s and drive on the ground no problems as above... are they the bumpstops that came with it or the coilovers??

If you want to destroy your coilovers then remove the bump stops completely.. they're there to prevent your shock from bottoming out, remove the helper, that'll drop you at least another inch...

is it the front you want lower? the rear height looks fine, drop the front another inch and you'll be apples... (imo...)

:edit: too much shade on the rears too :p

I've got hottunings on my blue 1995 Vento too :p , and it's not partiiiiiiiiiicularly low, but has heaps left to drop. As above, ditch the helpers.
