I'm at a loss. I don't know what to do.
I need to have this car running by tonight, as it's my only transport.

The fuel system all looks fine, its the electrical system i can't test. If anyone wants to bring a VAGCOM to bunyip, there is a slab in it for you. And on such a nice day, who'd say no to a slab?

Also, If you want to bring a selection of sensors (i.e, MAF, o2 ect) that would also be awsome.

I'm at 32 wattle tree road in bunyip, around half an hour east of Berwick on the princess hwy. Call me on 56 296 075 if you can help. i'll be there all night.

Oh My God (OMMFG) I cant belive i missed that!!!

It apears to be my fuel pressure regulator!
when the car is cold, the pressure regulator opens fine, but when it's hot the reg wont open.

When cold, 500ml of fuel will return through the return line.
When it's hot, and the car starts playing up, NO fuel returns.

The pump still delivers 500mls of fuel, but with the reg closed, the rail is starved of fuel.

It all makes sense now!!!

Whats a reg worth? and where can i get one tonight?

I had the same symptoms as you way back when I first got my vr6. muller & muller here in sydney replaced the fuel pump. so they say. good luck with the fix.

you could almost get a adjustable fuel pressure regulator for those kind of dollars.

are you sure that your fpr is knackered? what happens when you unplug the vacuum line from it on startup, are you still getting fuel returned?

Mate also ask whoever is coming to look at you car to bring a number 30 and 109 relay, this is the ecu relay. When it gets hot it can **** itself intermittantly very common. Hey silly question have you changed your fuel filter sounds like a blockage. If its been like that for a while you may have overloaded the fuel pump.

I kinda dropped the laptop i was using to scan people on the cruise....... so its not working so good (at all) right now. If you want to swing by Autobarn on sunday you can grab it (the cable).

hey science. If you cant catch up with BlackVr6ix. Ill be at home on sunday arvo doing an oilchange to my GTI with FknDubbin. If youre able to get the car to my place we can connect you up to the vagcom and see if she is throwing any codes. Also happy to swap out some parts from my VR6 to yours as a test if you like cos as of this weekend my car will be grounded for a couple weeks.
