  • Annoying immobiliser problem

Ive ran into a problem, as i try and start the car it turns over ans then cuts off, i have had this problem before but i fixed it with a new immobiliser coil (thing that is attached to the ignition coil) now 10 months later the same symptoms but not the same fix, i have replaced the immobiliser coil with 2 used ones, and have also replaced the box (where the immobiliser coil plugs into) iv'e checked all the fuses in the footwell and the relays appear to be ok (not sure how to check them)

VAG-COM scan came up with an error in the immobiliser "low signal" not entirely sure where else i could look.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

There's a brown part that sits over the ignition barrel. Take it off and give it a wipe on the inside. It sends the signal to the ecu. It should temp fix it till you get a new one maybe.

Possibly your key is stuffed, need to recode or get a new one and code it.

Do you know anywhere to get a new chip for the key, or how much it will cost?

That's if that's your problem. Might pay to get someone to look at it to let you know what exactly is up. My advice is just from my previous faults similar to yours
