I might be interested in a vr6 one, however can we get the Sydney ones delivered to one destination thus saving money! It would be easier getting them delivered and all the Sydney people aren't that far apart really.

Hey Steve, Mate i asked the same question when i did the Polo one. Basically his answer is that it wouldnt save that much money, cause he sends them out the way he recieves them, but if he had to put more together it would require more effort on his part. And you would be limited to the amount you could send together before the package is to big and he starts to get charged a volume amount not just weight. He told me that you may save a couple of bucks each but that would be offset by the travelling time and fuel etc that would be used to collect them. Now he can send them to anywhere you want so if you want it sent straight to your work or your mechanic then he can do that.

Let me know what you think.

Also Can you tell me what the difference in suspension there is between the normal mk3 and the VR6

Well ain't that a kick in the pants

Not to sure about the difference but I think it has something ot do with the strut towers being longer on the vr6 don't quote me

Shaneth, the VR6 uses "Plus" suspension which essentially has a widened track as opposed to the 4-cylinder "non-Plus" suspensions. Logically they would use different swaybars (not just in thickness, but length too I assume) so there should be different swaybars for the VR6 and 4-cylinder. However, on Whiteline's page, they only specify two types of swaybars, a heavy duty + adjustable 22mm and a heavy duty 20mm one. No differentiation in model type whatsoever...

Doesn't really help you out does it lol.

According to redbook the track is only 4mm different, could this be because of the wheel size???

                VR6's run 205s on a 6.5", whereas 4-cylinders have 185's on a 6". Which doesn't make sense considering 4mm is insanely small. Where's Golf Loon?!

Yeah well redbook isnt the best of references. If someone in brissie with a vr6 wants one and wants to be the guinee pig ill buy it back off them if it doesnt fit.

I've been in recent chats with a fellow in Sydney who fabs up his own sway bars for Golfs, with the help of some ex-whiteline employees. He's assured me they DO fit. Perhaps we can buy from him?

Warning on Whiteline Swaybars for Golf MK3

One word of warning with the Whiteline swaybar: the U-bolts that came in my kit were the wrong size. I argued with the guy on the phone, he swore they were the right size, I said they werent, he said I must be trying to fit it wrong. In the end I said "OK, I'll bring my car to you, if you can put it on I'll pay you double, if you can't you provide the correct bolts and refund my money". He then very quickly promised to have the correct bolts to me as soon as possible.

The bolts I ended up with were too long, but at least it fit (and does the job quite well). I hack-sawed off the bolts so they didn't hang so low. I know of one other guy who has a Whiteline bar and the bolts on his are not even from Whiteline - his mechanic had to source them independantly. I can't remember the size, but I quickly tried to measure it and its around 105mm from thread to thread (I think the ones in the kit are 85mm).

It was a very annoying situation, but at less than half the price of the Neuspeed bar I was able to put up with shonky service and R&D.
