  • Weird squeak from the shocks

    Hi all.

I need some help, when i got my car back from the mechanic it started making some weird squeak noise (the mechanic replaced some rubber ring type thing on the shock tower) is there supposed to be oil there????? the reason i ask is that the sqeak only happens when the car is fully loaded (i thought it was the shocks, but when the car is empty and i push down on the shocks it doesnt happen, but when ppl sit in the car and i push down it squeaks... its driving me nuts. everytime ive taken it back to the any mechanic they cant hear it...
Whats the easiest way to chewck if the original mechanic did it properly (i.e. should there be oil there (if yes i dont think he put any there). I cant go back to him as he is a round trip of 1200kms away....

    Cheers,

    Darko

What shocks/springs are you using? I found that I get the squeak sometimes to when I jack the car up and down. They sound like it's the springs too. Not sure if it's the same noise as you have though.

Mine has a bit of a groan when its jacked up and down too, I think its the spring settling like ray said. But if you're getting squeaks when loaded I don't think it would be that?
