    how much power does the pre-out connector usually produce at full volume? (as in Volts)

    the latter idea seems like the best alternative - I'd like to keep the headunit as CarPC radios don't work too well...

    thing is, the only ones i know of are the 240v DJ mixers...

      between 1 and 12 volts depending on the model. you can get passive mixers quite cheaply on ebay.

        hey black. thanks for all the info.
        Just 1 clarification. If I run a 2 channel amp I should stick purely for the 2 speakers and not add on a sub.

        So on save side, if I eva do want a sub in future, I should get 4 channel amp right.

          How about a 2-channel for the front splits, and a mono for a sub?
          Past: Mk3 Golf 2L 8V, Audi 8L A3T.
          Present: Mk3 Golf variant.
