No idea how and what the stuctural difference, I can only spot this, but sure does reduce the throw by heaps and my first gear doesn't jam anymore too.

Sorry to disapoint anyone, but these diesel geek shifters are only for cable shift gear selection, i.e. ONLY FOR VR6 and TDI and 16V
