Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Thanks for the photos matt! yeah my dads first car was a white golf as well and it turned out to be the car my parents used in their wedding. and when i was a kid he had a VR6 which i remember being suppperrr fast. so my dad couldn't have been happier when i told him I wanted a golf! and i didn't even know about the 'history' of golfs in the family before i bought my mine, so i like to think that golfs run naturally in the family

this is a photo of when i first tried putting the coilovers on, +1 internetz to the first person who can spot the huge cock up.

    and just a random photo!

I wouldnt checker anything else on your car, the mirrors by themselves look good. If I was to change anything on your car (if it was mine) I'd prob mess around with the wheel fitment / stance or alternatively go to 16's or 17's and mess with fitment and stance. A euro lip would be cool, joey mod the headlights maybe? Clear or smoked indicators and side markers....and your done. Your car is crazy clean as it is!

        Nice one mate.

If you ever want to get rid of the wheels let me know, my mk2 needs some daily duty wheels.

Yeah I like your train of thought, i just started looking for spacers on ebay actually and im thinking something like 20mm or 25mm (havent given it much thought) for the back wheels and roll the guards to suit. Front wheels sit perfectly flush so wont need much to get some poke

hahaha i can just imagine the face of the next cop who pulls me over and asks to see my engine bay haha and yeah dad is always asking to borrow the car even though he says it's "very bouncy" haha He's very close to getting another golf for himself again and hopefully I'll get to muck about with it

I won.... does that mean I get to follow you home again???? lol
Only reason I know how those bastards go in is i'm on my second set.... new ones get put in on Tuesday. Along with replacement of the Transmisson Mount.... I suggest you replace it with non-oem fluid filled part. Lasts longer, bit more vibration but not too noticable.... You notice just that little bit more launch too. Being that they are a bit stiffer. Catch ya soon buddy

Completely forgot about this thread! sorry this hasn't been much of a 'build' thread but here's what she looks like now enjoy!
                    Probably the most recent pic:

Stickers don't exist at the back anymore, it was a weird phase i went through when i lost my license:

The prop that's usually seen with the car

Got a new badge-less grill to put on needing paint in my garage and looking to buy spacers (something like 20mm rear and like 5mm front?) and then rolling the rear guards to suit.. and that pretty much sums it up aesthetically
