  • Checking Out a Vento in the coming days

    Hey guys,

During my search of a golf, a really clean vento has popped up, pretty standard, just been lowered and has a sports exhaust. Is there anything particular I should be looking out for with this model car?

    Thanks in advance
    Cheers!

Find out the condition of all the electrical stuff (ignition system particularly the ignition coil, look for cracks; ABS system, check for light; power windows), check if the heater and A/C is working well. Not massive problems if they're not working, but it'd be good to use any of those problems as a chance to haggle the price down. You're bound to replace them if you're planning to use the car for a while.

Ventos were very good cars, and are basically the sedan version of the Golf.

Sold in most markets as the MK3 Jetta.

Yeah I've done a fair bit of research and there doesn't seem to be too many complaints. Can't wait to check it out, hopefully it gets the green light!
        Cheers!

Check for rust in the lower middle part of the door seals, especially the rear

Stu has Australia's pimped Vento title down-pat. Good to see some Vento's getting picked up by enthusiasts. Pics ASAP please! Any modifications in the works?

I'll chuck up the pics when I get it home tomorrow.

Currently is just lowered, tinted, some aftermarket 15s, and a 2.5 inch exhaust system. Ideally wanna upgrade the headlights and get some work equip 03s
                        Cheers!

Cool plans. Hehe, how does the 2.0 sound with a 2.5" exhaust?

I guess 4X100 is a dream stud pattern for JDM style wheels. Keep an eye on the Mk3 appreciation thread for some inspiration on what's been done and what works on Ventos. I have some forbidden replica wheels on mine atm...

It sounds good, just a nice sporty note...i hate cars that sound like they are constantly farting!

Finding the right PCD isn't too hard for JDM wheels since Honda share the same stud pattern which always helps. I'm a sucker for good wheel fitment though, my previous car was all about the fitment!
                            Cheers!
