I think this needs to be cleared up cause there is so much wrong info here .

The 12V has 2 different oil filter housings but uses the same gasket for both of them . The only difference is the actual oil filter .
The part number for this gasket is 021115446A

The 24V uses a different gasket . This is actually 2 gasket pieces both are the same unlike the 1 piece 12V unit . (dont have part number will get it and edit later)

The seals loon is talking about are the oil cooler seals . The outer one is 038117070 and the inner one is 038117070A . They are a more common leak and Euro Revolution keeps a few of these in stock .

Hope that clears it up !

Is that including 021115446A? I spoke to 2 different VW spare parts departments and was told it was NLA by both of them :|

Your right, I just got off the phone with Daniel and he's ordered me in the gasket... Seems that 021115446 is NLA but 021115446A is still available... Obviously the original guys I spoke to at vw missed that one

Dan at Bayford is a champ and Loon from Camden is alright too. I've also had great dealing with Rick and Dean at Volkspower in Melbourne. I haven't bought from Loon but met him at a Melbourne VW show, and he was not only very informative but willing to shoot the breeze about his passion for VW's. Like all people in the business these guys know their stuff and are happy to help.

I don't work in the auto industry, but I also know that after 20+ years of tinkering on VW's in Qld and Vic that the best way to deal with any parts dealer or similar is to be armed with the correct info and get ready to absorb their insights and advice if on offer, these guys are generaly uber busy, and although they will help out, they also have a business to run.

I am not defending anyone here but after many years and many friends in the same area of interests, it can't hurt to show some courtesy all round. I've only ever dealt with one pure tool in my time and they don't have a shop anymore-nuf said
