You probably went to the one of the best places in Newcastle for exhausts. Brendan can put together some mint systems with custom rear boxes.

If you don't want off the shelf, go to him. Yes he's expensive but it's his craft and you gotta pay to play.

As I said, I haven't driven a 2.5" but my 2.25 was noticeably better up top ("kicked" after 3.5k). Dunno if that was at the expense of bottom end or just gains at the top though.

I have heard quite a bit about him, I am still tossing up a custom or off the shelf, but I'm going to get a cat back including a 200cell cat. And then later on add headers and the rest of piping. At least that is the plan.

Just on a point of note and back to the original post. Corrado is a 2.9, compared to the Golf 2.8 which would account for more Hp than the exhaust alone.
