Its inside the dash and its a bitch of a job to change thats why check to see if its working or not. If the heater core is gone the coolant pipes to the heater are blocked off or rerouted. Also, obviously the heater wouldnt work.

No way to tell if its been replaced other than going on the word of the seller. Let us know how you go after seeing it Hopefully u should be driving a vr6 on monday lol.

I don't have any idea on VR6 values, but the indications are good. One owner, low K's, service history, the main things I'd be looking for. Hope it's as good as it appears to be.

          Cheers

just curious as to why you droped kick the S15? too much insurance?
going from the S15 to a VR6 I would say is a downgrade.

there are many things to look for when you are buying a used vehicle. you should look beyond the odometer and inspect the mechanics of the vehicle. if you do not have a mechanical mind, you should have it inspected by a professional.

the most common problems on our mk3's are the coilpack, heater core, electrics and manabable bits and pieces.

DIDZ: Yeah kinda..i live around the Fairfield area...you stalking me

The reason why i sold my S15 was simple...money! Id own the car outright..and with the crazy amount of JDM out there i opted to sell before the car dropped below the $20k mark

I personally know its a downgrade but im searching for a car with cheaper insurance/a daily a-b car where i can park it anywhere without thinking twice and yeah insurance i was paying 2.5k a year.

I believe someone has put down a deposit for it already? Anyway, I'm not looking for a VR6 anymore... a lot of the VR6 funding has been spent on other things...

jok3r - know how u feel mate, I had a 200rwkw S15 and a sold it, mainly to free up some cash and save my license! lost it way too many times in the S15. Had a pintara as a runabout.
Anyway my mum had an auto vr6 a few years ago which i didn't mind driving so I figured a manual one wouldnt be a bad runabout, bit of power, something a bit different - plus I love mk4 R32's but can't afford one!
So i bought a 94 black vr6 manual with 118K klms for $9k so this one up for $12K looks good with the kms and YOM. All i've done is put a pod on it and painted the rims black and I love it. No S15 but still isn't bad as a daily runner. I've prob had to spend about $1k on it in about 10 months so has been alright so far. Overall i'm pretty happy with it and plan on keeping it if there's no major problems in the future.
Good luck with it (sorry about the epic post)
                              cheers
