VR6 Temperature Sender Unit Keeps Failing

Hi,

My coolant temperature gauge on my VR6 stopped working about a month ago.

I paid $80 for a new sender unit (apparently they are becoming rare) and my gauge worked perfectly! However, shortly after the gauge failed again.

I was putting around in a car park when the unit failed (I think it failed as soon as the thermo fans came on). A relay inside the car started whining at me when the unit was failing and then once it failed the relay stopped making noise.

My thermo fans still work, but the gauge is not receiving a signal.

Please help!

Man I feel your pain, my coolant tank is losing fluid, thermo fans used to run only on shut down, now they are not running at all! My gauge is working but lets see how long for. Someone here will be able to point you in the right direction.
