battle wounds

Hey guys,

so last night I had a friends 18th birthday party on in murrumbateman. Its about 50km away from my house and I decided to be sober for the night and drive. So I set out on a "spirited"; as they say, drive. The drive there was awesome! There were twisties for a good 20km of the drive and there was no other car to be seen.

We sat around a bonfire talking and laughing and having a good time, it was about 12:30am and it was time to go home. So off I went, same deal as before, about 30km along in the journey I've come up and over a crest and kangaroo jack was just waiting to ruin my night. I saw him, slammed on the brakes (2.slow brakes are sloooooooow) and he thought it would be awesome to play follow the leader and decided to just keep jumping in front of me. In the end he won the game, I hit him with my right headlight. Glass exploded and went everywhere, jack was nowhere to be seen and there I was wondering why I wasnt exploding with rage.

It was some of the best fun I've had, Jack definitely put a downer on the mood but I was smiling ear to ear the whole time. Only in a mk3 haha.

I was really keen on enterin nats this year, but this is going to make it a little harder.

So what I need from you guys.

VR6 lip
Front right guard

Stu is sorting out a vento front end for me so I should have the bonnet, headlights and grill covered. If I can try and piece all these parts together before/at nats I'll bring the golf, if not I'll bring one of my parents boring cars haha. I dont care if I've got mismatched panels or anything, if my car can make it there assembled I'll get it there. It's my first nats and I really want to make it!!

Is the guard really that bad?

Do you have square or round holes for the indicators? I may have a blue gaurd here that I can bring to Nats!

yeah definitely, I'd slowed down to about 50kmph by the time I hit him so it wasnt too bad.

Yeah I'm definitely still thinking about it, do you reckon I'd have any trouble driving it up in the exact condition with police and whatnot? nothing is loose or anything but yeah.

I'm hoping that I'll be able to gather parts at nats so I can fix her up there. The guard's not real bad but if I think I might as well just get a new one. I've got square indicators on mine mate. Whats the guard you have?

I don't have a spare haha, the globe still works in the broken one, there's just no glass. Infact the headlight is probably brighter without the glass haha

haha yeah, its not toooooooo bad, I've decided if I can get most of the parts I need on the saturday, I'll put everything together saturday night, and if not we'll I'll just rat it.
