VR6 02A second gear crunching

When I change gears, often in second I get a crunching or grinding noise even if I am not changing gears fast. Second is the only gear it happens in.

Transmission only has <150 000km on it, so I'm wondering what the problem is.

What would help? New transmission fluid? Would something be wrong with the shifter? Is it something you can DIY?

Any help would be awesome.

I would try gear oil first, chances are it has never been changed.

Most likely it is the 2nd gear synchro ring either broken or just not working correctly. If it has been bad for awhile it may have damaged the dog teeth on 2nd gear also the second gear selector hub.

Off chance it could be the clutch, but your only having the problem in second gear.
