Is this an ignition switch problem?

So this is what happens in my mk3 sometimes:

-car cuts out randomly at traffic lights
-'la cucuracha' door chime plays randomly even with the key out
-car will not start everytime, but when it does start it starts perfectly, with only one crank

Pretty sure it is an ignition switch...

Sounds exactly like what mine did Tim. $25 for a new switch and all was good (for a year then I had to replace it again)!

Not sure if the ignition barrell is different on the US spec ones.
For the cost, Id just get one locally. Hit up BMW, Mercedes, SAAB, Alfa Romeo, Audi, Renault, Volvo, VW, Peugeot, Auto Parts, New Parts, Spares | Euro Car Parts Pty Ltd as thats where I got mine from for around $25
