  • 1999 jetta mk3 vr6, lacking v6 power

Long story short, i was told i needed new plugs, wires, ignition coil, MAF, and i was getting secondary air injection codes.
Replaced Plugs, Wires, and MAF. found a coil from a junk yard. still same random cyl misfires. and same misfires on cyl 1,3, and 5. When i unplug the MAF I was told engine should bogg down and almost stall, but it does nothing. I can't feel air blowing or being vacuumed through the MAF and i'm still getting MAF codes with the new one in. Theres a hose going from my air filter box to somwhere under the intake manifold i've been told it's not important, just for emission, but who knows. any help anyone??

vacuum leak, or secondary air pump bolted on the front of the engine on that car.

I think if you unplug the MAF it will just go into an open loop mode setting in the ecu. i don't see why it would stop, but it wont be optimal... should still run though. If it really does nothing at all unplugging the MAF, then maybe its still got an issue.
