  • Got my VR today :D

    Hey guys,

Picked up my VR6 today from Scruffy. Been driving it pretty much nonstop for a few hours now! Keen to do some stuff to it like:

    - Paint one white stripe down the left, and match the interior.
    - Chuck a flame thrower kit to the exhaust (woooopyro!)
    - Repaint the engine cover to a chrome/white/black mixture
    - Replace the clutch

What else... I can't think of much. Was thinking about repainting the whole car to a gloss black with one white stripe going down the passenger side.. thoughts? or keep it stock colour?

So yeah, I'll update with pics shortly and we'll see what we can do to my new VR

lol thought that said you wanted to paint the clutch.

anyway, people on here aren't going to dig the stripe/flame thrower ect, but hey its your car, may as well make it how you like it

I vote stick it on some cheap coilovers, slam it, baller 16x9 wheels, maybe joey mod headlights, shave bumper, badgless grille, ect ect. oh and a real exhaust to get the vr sounding like it should if something hasnt already been done to it.

what colour is it? new paint isnt cheap

It's got coilovers and a nice exhaust already. It's slammed, and I got some 'sick' black wheels with it too. It's the original burgundy/maroon colour, very nice and shiny.

            Will get pics this arvo

              Finally got some pics!

So far (sorry no pics) I've painted all the plastic bumper/skirts/spoilers gloss black, added 17" black wheels, tinted the spoiler light, added blacked out tail lights and gave it a nice wax and polish. I'll try and take more pics of it as I go doing more things to it..

Question, there's a loud metal creaking sound whenever the suspension moves.. could it be the coilovers settling in(recently lowered it some more..) or sould it be faulty coilovers?

Just the springs moving on their seats on compression. Most cheaper coilovers do that unfortunately.

I'll be at the show this Sunday in Adelaide

I'm going to paint that big piece of metal in the engine, but don't know what paint. I've got some brand new white 1053 degree paint.. that'll do wont it? It's either white or gold?? Oh, and don't VR6's look good with space savers on?!

                          looks clean

By big piece of metal are you reffering to the intake manfold? 1053 degree paint will do just fine (Vr6's run hot.. but hopefully not that hot hahah)

oh and also if the paint is as nice as it looks in that photo youd be crazy to redo it in a ****ty cheap paint job. some forever black on those trims would bring it up a treat. then just dial in a bit more stance with the coilovers and maybe some new wheels (while those ones look pretty nice im just not feeling em) and you have a sweet little ride there.

Seems to be a common trend to keep the car that colour, just touch it up yea?

Also, showed my mate at school your car bj, and they loved it! Good work
