well, aussie mk2's are 5k tops!

so i would agree with James, but if you want more you may have to wait for the seller.

Funny, was having this conversation the other night as to what it's actually worth. Difference being the one in question was done by a reputable shop, everything getting a good look over etc...I think 8500 is fairly fair (better than good body/interior condition with the full VR6 swap)

But then for a few slight problems I'd say the least (unless it was a complete bucket) IMO would be 7000. a $2000 premium (call it the "cost of a VR motor") over the top of a standard VR6 and you have the 2 door with brakes etc that go with it....basically swap done for free.

Between the $7000 and $9000-8500 ranges I guess....?

You could argue that they are not worth any more than a 5 door really.

I suppose my votes for 3 door would be exclusivity + better looking (obviously subjective but they just are) and the performance increases associated with less weight.

Do yuo get anything more than a 5 door? No, actually less 2 doors so should be cheaper lol.

Still think they deserve a premium, if not only for the fact (Matt or whoever) is sourcing an engine (1500 bucks maybe?) + the rest of the gear, fiddling around, putting in the labour to create something that people want. That's worth a premium, but by how much...

Maybe 1.5k over an equal condition 5 door?

Used VOLKSWAGEN GOLF 2.8L Car for Sale - Auto Trader UK

They start at 850 quid in the UK...... WA120EA is a good postcode to use.

It depends on the buyer too - how much would someone pay?
If it was tip top condition and i had my heart set on it i'd pay $9k (if i had the money!).
I'm going to the pub... I may be some time...

It all depends of course. i'd say more than a 5-door in the same nic, the 3-doors done well have so much more potential than a 5-door with the same work. And the rare factor too...

                        i <3 mine!!

anyone wanna sell theirs? i always said ill only jump back in a vr6 if its a 2 door, i got to drive the blue one matt built and loved it.

I would be willing to pay between 7 - 9k. 9k being imaculate paint, reputable workshop making the transplant, solid donk and no issues of course.
