VR6 Power steering creaking - any advice??

Hi all,

My VR6's power steering is creaking - has been getting progressively worse over the past few weeks.

Particularly noticeable when parking, I can feel a little resistance through the steering wheel.

Checked the power steering fluid - that seems okay.

Any ideas??

i had a similar problem with my friends car, and we took it too a vw specialist... and they said the creaking sound was from a worn out power steering column (or something to that degree)

Fixing it would cost around $1200 - $1800 BUT! - if you left it alone and did nothing about it, the noise would get progressively louder but everything would still work as it suppose to.

Could it be the Power steering motor?

WD40 -fixes everything including a broken heart!

I'd say it more than likely going to be bushes of some describtions that have just worn down...
