MK3 Roof Racks

what are some decent roof racks for the MK3 Golf?

i was not impressed with supacheap auto...

what do you guys use?

Thule. Model number 404 or 444. Clips into the gutter rails, have square bars. 404 suits the Mk3 Golf better, as the 444's bars extend a little too long over the side. I don't know if you can still buy these new from a Thule retailer, but they pop up on eBay and the forums from time to time.

thanks for the information rayray! sounds like what im looking for - i do not like the inside roof/door sill attachment of the cheap roof racks. thule - thats a nice name...

Agreed, 404 is the only way to go. They are designed for the MK3 unlike other generic racks.

cool, so i guess ill just have to hunt on ebay or something as its not a current model.

also the thule society is an interesting group read about them on wikipedia.
