So I am up to this bit

What do I do next? My guess is to remove the bits that I have circled? Is there a trick to it or do you just lever em off? I am trying to be as gentle as possible up to this stage.

I've always left those in, the foam had been ripped around them anyway

I guess they are not what holds the vapour barrier on, it's the black glue stuff that holds it on. So I could rip/cut around those grey things, but I would prefer not to if I can some how get em off.

Yeah I tried levering just one of with a flat head screwdriver but it didn't seem like it would work. Looks like it will be best to cut a thin slice through the vapour barrier and just move it around the clips. I will wait though and see if anyone has any better ideas.

Yeah I'm gonna slice through the glue with a knife so as not to rip the vapour barrier.

But yeah looks like I will just make a few slits to get around the clips.

I actually don't know if it is the regulator but my window isn't working. It worked intermittently and then stopped working, but I can still hear something moving in there when I press the window switch. Ideas?

Yeah I try to be as neat as possible when working on my car, maybe OCD but whatever.

It is pretty rare that a mk3 owner isn't familiar with working on their power windows but I have had my car for years, and all four windows always worked. This one was intermittent but I didn't care because it was the passenger side. Pretty funny that I'm still a window reg noob after years of owning a mk3 but there is a first time for everything.

I will have to see what is up, it may just be the plastic brackets you were talking about. Cheers for the help.

Yeah so this got a bit more complicated, the electric window is stuck up and I can't access the clamps that hold the glass in. I can't get the regulator out because it's still clamped to the window glass. Cut the cables?

Same problems as this guypower window stuck up.

I`d check the wiring, by plugging in another motor. Common for the switch or door wiring to be buggered.

You can take all the bolts out of the reg and jiggle it down to get enough room to undoo the bolts that hold the glass in.
