1996 CL VW golf over revving

Hey guys,

it seems I'm having some issues with my golf again.

its due for service soon but and I'm not sure if this issue is major or the car just needs a service.

its done about 190,000km

Ok so quick update I'm stranded.

Look the car for a short drive to try and work out what is going on and have worked out a couple of thongs.

There is a Smokey smell. Closer inspection there is a little smoke coming out near the dip stick.

attempted to start the car again which was ok until I tried driving and got no where..... Engine revs but I hardly move backwards or forwards.

verdict........burnt out clutch
