Alarm/Immobilizer/ Remote central locking ..

Hey guys !

My mk3 CL has no alarm/Immobilizer when i got it .. the main key didnt have the chip in it .. what are my aftermarket choices ?? is it better to have one of em or both ? and is it possible to fit remote central locking ???

any input will be appreciated !

my car had imobiliser in it already but i just got a remote central locking kit from the uk for less then 50 bucks AUD,

there is a link to the kit, they have some great central locking kits and imobiliser kits there, would highly recommend them,

thats a link to golf gti forums (UK) on how to install the above kit aswell

there is plenty more kits on the site with imobilisers built in, you will just need to add that into the system

i didnt see anything about the remote engine start in the instructions .. what are you running in your car ? alarm + immobilizer + remote central locking + remote engine start ?

thats the one, i got the other one (they sent the wrong one) HU49 is what i ordered tho, looks good to me, its not too hard to setup, just follow that thread on gtiforums, should be easy as

i just have the stardard imobiliser (VW) and the remote central locking, no engine start or alarm (which i dont like neways)

tbh i got no idea, but i would assume if you dont have the chip in the keys, then you dont have an imobiliser, but that is only a quess

bit of an unrelated question, how many km do you get out of a full tank of petrol in your CL

about 485 k .. but i drive really hard .. i could get around 500 if i drive sensibly .. but who am kidding ? what about you ?

It has an Immobilizer, unless it is a 1994 build and has a metal key withour a plastic top.
