    Hey guys,
ive been attempting to get myself a new clutch and timing chains etc from GAP for coming on three weeks now...
initally everything was going smoothly, until i realised my i had a debit card, not credit card (idiot). Without access to a credit card, i asked 'Louis' from GAP for the account details so i could transfer the necessary moneys over...
its been on two weeks now that i havent had contact with the guy, repeated emails are left unreplied and its just starting to be a real inconvenience.
Has anyone had similar issues to this?

I thought you can use a debit card as a credit card such that you provide them with your card number, expiry date and so on. Only difference is that a debit card uses funds from your account as opposed to a credit card which loans credit from the bank.

Anyway, it was the X'mas and New Years holiday not long ago so perhaps they're busy and catching up with other work. If anything, contact them by phone. I've never ordered stuff from them during major holidays, and as such my experience has been quick and easy with them always.

Not sure about your specific situation, but i've used my Mastercard Debit card to purchase from the USA a few times, never with an issue. Paypal is usually easiest though.

Yup I buy a bit from GAP and always used my Debit Card with no issues at all.
If your in a hurry for your stuff, put "USPS Express" into the box at the bottom of your order. Will cost a touch extra but should be there in ~3 days

I take it he means the sort of debit card you can get before you're 18 but not use online? It certainly makes buying things on the internet without someone else a bit tricky. Maybe after you sent them a "fake" credit card number (how would they know weather to believe that you didn't know or if it was stolen) they just discarded your order. Probably more likely that theyre just quite busy, could always give them a call to see whats going on.

I think this guy only has a debit card (no credit facility) so it ain't going to work.

My suggestion is to call people when there is an issue as suggested, I find that sorts out any issues as they realise that it is a real person on the other end not a scammer.
