  • VW Golf MK3... Spare Parts

    Hi,

My sister recently was in an accident and her car was written off.

She was given $3000 by her insurance company.

We found a 1997 Golf GL for a $1500 and I inspected and we need to replace these parts:

Gear Linkage in engine bay ( Prevents 1st gear usage even when car is off)

    Thermostat (Already replaced)

    PCV hose(Non existent)

    CV Joint (Replaced)

We have already bought this car and I can't find the Gear linkage and and the PCV hose. Does anyone know a good place in Sydney where I can get these parts or spare parts in general

I got your message aand i'll let you know when i'll take the car in.

Another thing is when I or someone else push down on the gear linkage rod 1st gear becomes available. As soon as I relieve the preasure we can't change onto 1st gear. Any ideas?

I have excatly the same problem, replaced the bushes and the relay rod as the "Golf ball" had fell off, the only bush I didn't replace, as it was not in the bush kit ?? was the one where the shift rod goes throught the front subframe, where the relay rod is located ? woudl this bush alone stop 1st gear going in without pushing down on the lever ?
