Haha no worries mate. Glad my posts can have some sort of use - only posting VG Auto after someone else on this forum recommended them (forgot who you were, sorry!). Would love to see it in the flesh on the next NSW cruise!

              hey pommy golfer
I didn't exactly buy it, friend of mine tolled his VR6 before he got a chance to intall it and even left sydney for business, been lying around in other friend's garage for years. From the box it was from Mattig, it was almost 5 years go he payed almost 200AUS to his door.

But on goingfast.com they are selling for 27.00 US, they seem to be legit 5000+ sales on ebay and 99.6% +ve feedback. here .. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VW-Go...mZ290136550407

But the price is a little too good to be true.

Its not that great of a deal. This is one of those examples where the seller factors his profit into the shipping cost. US$90 for shipping is ludicrous when you consider you can get a set of coilovers for $130, or my headlights coming from Germany costing US$40 for shipping. Still, even at US$118 shipped I spose its prett good....

Yep, it's the shipping that f*cks you up. Blame the grille being a weird shape for shipping when it's boxed up.

Sorry, bit of confusion in my last post. I have had a shipping quote of US$130 for koni coilovers (the coilovers themselves were $800something). The aforementioned front grill on eBay is $118 delivered ($28 for the grill, $90 for shipping). My headlights were US$40 for shipping only.

ar... I see what you mean.. wow.. 800US for coilovers less than a grand US to door must have been a good deal. Do you mind telling the place you got them from ? I would consider getting coils after tax return.

haha $90 for shipping way rediculous, more like a DHL delivery huh.

I was just getting quotes, I haven't bought any coilovers. I thought the quote was $800something but a quick search shows that that price was probably for a strut/spring set. I had just been surfing various suspension sites (see the sticky thread in the MK3 forum for lots of good sites) for various setups. I am only checking prices for interests sake, and specifically to sus out how much shipping should cost as this is something we usually get raped on. I now know that, come time to get new suspension, I shouldn;t pay more than US$130-140 for shipping from the States.

Just search some sites dude, spend a bit of time looking, you will find a bargain somewhere.

Now, back onto the topic of this thread. I like the badgeless grill, paint job looks good, I think I might need one....

Yep, I found those Koni coilovers for $800USD too but the shipping was way up at $300USD! Even at $130USD for shipping, it would make the total to be >$1000AUD which means we would need to pay additional tax on top, which would shoot it through the roof anyhow However, someone on here found Weitec coilovers from the UK for less than $1000AUD shipped to the door! Forgot who it was though...
