Thats not the actual set I'm getting - just the only pic I could find of some refurbed. I do like the gun metal look though....hmmm maybe this could be the way to go? Here's mine complete with gutter rash etc
Well despite it being christmas I have been busy playing with my new toy. Replaced the water pump, belt tensioner, leads plugs and oil this week! Going by the weird whirring noise I hear in the back I'm thinking fuel pump will be next! Might have to buy myself one cause I know its going to crap out on me at the worst possible moment! Doesn't look too hard to swap out - anyone done this?
Also got some Thule racks which I put on this afternoon!
Next on the list will be suspension and then get those wheels refurbished and hopefully have some semblance of a stance on the thing without getting a defect notice!
Jarred - they are 17 x 8, I believe - offset is 35 or 40mm (info is conflicting on this) stud pattern 5 x 112, kinda sucks cause I'll have to run adapters, which are spendy for good ones, but the wheels were cheap and I have never seen them on a golf.
Wheels should arrive this week, still not sure how they will look but for what I payed for them it doesn't really matter! I will get them repaired and powder coated black and see how they look. Here's about the only photo I can find of them mounted on semi low profile tyres! http://flic.kr/p/7EVp6M
Ok - so my new wheels showed up and as expected they have a bit of gutter rash, anyone know a good wheel refurb place is S.E Melbourne? Just want to get them repaired and powder coated black (of course )
So purchases ahead:
Coilovers
Alignment
Adaptec Adapters
Rubber for new wheels
Fuel Pump
Smoked side markers
Either helix smoked projectors or angel eyes
Smoked fogs
This **** is addictive!
Can anyone tell me if the euro spec lights are a direct fit or do you need the euro support brackets and harness?
I want to take this thing to sedf and not look like a complete douche so lots to do!!
Those wheels would look sweet in gloss black. The all black look only looks right when there is some sort of contrast and the gloss wheels would offset the matte paint job.
