GOLF GL - Help Installing Stereo (Amp/Sub)

Hey guys was just seeking some advice regarding sound systems.

Planning on installing an amp and sub this weekend. Was just wondering if those who have already done so on their Mk3's out there have any advice and suggestions or even if there might be anything 'tricky' for me to look out for in particular with installation on an mk3?.

The cars already got a non standard head unit installed so some of the works done, but mainly worried about wiring at this stage, since the car doesnt have rear speakers, only door mounted ones, would it be easier to get it straight through to the headunit? (open to suggestions ).

Would really appreciate your help and suggestions, Maybe even some wiring diagrams and setups? Thank you

what exactly are you fitting with the rear door speaker pods?
im assuming your just doing a basic amp and sub yeah, its all pretty straight forward, just take your time

i recently did my sound system in my mk3, found it all pretty straight forward really.

There is an unused cork or soemthing grommet throuygh the fire wall, somewhere under the coolant bubble thing, which is perfect for running a power wire for an amp through (well atleast on the vr6 its there).

If you know how to wire everything up it shouldnt be a problem, i found it was quite easy to run wires through the car, heaps of space to run a nice meaty power cable for an amp. Only thing i found to be a bit of a bitch was whenrunning new speaker wires from the head unit to the rear speakers, and rca cords from the head unit to the amp, getting them through the dash was a little bit of a pain, but im sure theres an easy way to do it.

I think i posted a couple of things about it somewher in the last few pages of my thread which is probably on the next page, id find the link but meh, theres probably nothing usefull there anyway.
