i bought this today, pick it up tomorow...
    around 170,xxx original kms...
    stock everything, service history.

i look forward to asking you all a million questions whenever something goes wrong or i decide to make a few tasty enhancements...
already considering swapping out the exhaust and upgrade the air.
drove one locally that is still for sale, it had K&N airpod and remus exhaust... sounded amazing.

yea, here are a few things to do...
i was wondering about the grill? just thought it was yet another variation. is it worth my time looking for a used one? or can you still buy new or repro?

i picked it up saturday, and couldn't be happier with the drive (for stock everythin at least!). i was so dissapointed when i drove an auto VR6 earlier in the year that i almost gave up on them... but this thing is a little monster! bit of torque steer on take off, lost traction in 2nd at 65 kph.. hahaha... dont tell the wife!

there is a little knock in the front right (strut i think), the dealer said he replaced a squeeky strut, but i think it's just the rubbers.

it's gotta get lowered anyway, so i'll address it then.

You can still get the grill and grill retaining frame from the dealer, about $100 each iirc. Item #12 &13

                    some pics!

still just the pics from the drive site, i'll take some next weekend for greater effect.

the knocking seems pretty random, i can make it happen sometimes when i release the accelarator quickly.
the tone of the knock is quite soft, kind of like a little blow back, or back fire, but barely louder than road noise and i little rattling in the back door.
fairly confident it's coming from the front drivers side.

the dealer said he noticed a squeeky strut and replaced it, perhaps a dodgy job at it?

Oh very nice, I do love the black. I think that could look majorly tough with a badgless grill/blacked out badge, joey-modded headlights, smoked indicators and dummy pannels, and a decent drop

Could you be talking about the sexy crackle the vr6 often gives when you ease off the accelerator, especially with a different exhaust or even with the suitcase removed.

Oh and yea, if you want to get it sounding like it should for basically nothing, look at the "swiss cheese airbox" diy and think about having the suitcase muffler removed and replaced with pipe

$920 doesn't sound to bad, it depends on your age and history. Who was that with?

The knock may even be the RH engine mount bolt. Or even a control arm bush, bu the show up more so during braking.

Unfortunately the knock isn't the sexy kind! haha
a friend of mine suggested the RH engine mount bolt from my description too... hmmmm.

re insurance: over 25, no adverse driving history... this was thru cgu... with a discount thru work too.

Thats might be a bit high, it really depends on the policy it might have some fancy extras?

Try shannons, they do agreed value. I go a quote from them for my VR6, heavily modded, agreed value, over 25, no history for about $1000.
