    Do you mean the globe?

There are two different types of H4 globe. P43t and P45t.
P45t is for early Golfs and Beetles.
P43t has three legs sticking out from the side.

Yeah the globe it looks like a H3 globe as it has one prong and a wire that it is connected to it.

H4 is dual filament and no wire.
Do a search for a catalogue. (Narva, Philips etc)

from memory the stoc vr6 headlights are H3s in both chambers arent they?
I know when i got my twin round headlights i was able to re-use some H3s for the high beam and the new low beams were H1.
so my vote is for H3. definately not H4s in the twin chamber headlights. cos u have two seperate beams

                    What do they look like?
Are they single filament or combined high/low beam?
                    Do they have a pigtail?
Do they have a plastic base?

I remember my old vr6 it had the Mexican style headlights they were H4's!

hey mk3vr6 ..I just open up the hood and checked. If you are talking about the headlight globes, mine are H1 on the 94 mk3.
