  • Oxygen sensors

I have recently replaced my oxygen sensor on my 1996 GL. There wasn't anything specifically wrong with it but after 100,000 miles bosch recommends it be changed. There was a huge difference to the cars idle and warm up time, power also felt smoother and i am expecting better fuel economy as well. Not a particularly expensive proceedure at under $100 if u do it yourself and definatley worth it. You can purchase the Bosch sensors from Tooley imports in Hornsby. If anyone has any questions pm me.

It is in the exhaust. it measures the level of oxygen in the exhaust gases as a voltage, which tells the computer to richen or lean the mixture. The sensor you are refering to is the intake air temp sensor.
