dropped all the way down? if so you'll have to remove the door trim.

if not grab the window from both sides with your palms and push up at the same time as pressing up on the button.

    works for me.

        I'll second that.

When my driver's window went it dropped all the way down, but the pulley wired caught the regulator for an instant (I was playing with it trying to get it to work) and it popped into view. I grabbed it and applied upward pressure with my palm when I had enough window, while pressing the button, managed to get the window to slide up and stay in place...

Every situation's different. ALL are painful

With the trim off, it's a piece of cake. Just make sure you have a helper and a lump of timber handy (to keep the window from falling back down)...

        I feel for ya

OMG, she just rang me up and told me the car overheated.....the water temp went past 110 and she said she saw steam coming from where the expandion tank is? what the hell is going on. ive changed most of the hoses, the thermostat and its housing..........what could be causing this? this happens only sometimes and i always managed to turn it off before it overheats...could it be the relay. if so anyone know which one? waterpump? someone please give me some guidance.....

              anyone else have any ideas?

does the waterpump just stop working or does it gradually die? would it be more likely to be a relay? does anyone know which relay it is?

sounds to me like the secondary water pump has failed.

what makes you say its the scondary waterpump? Im thinking it could be the fan switch relay?

blackvr6, could it be the fan switch relay. ive changed the fan switch on the radiator a couple of weeks ago, sometimes the fan comes on and sometimes it doesnt....most of the time it is fine, but sometimes the temp needle creeps up to 110 (like it did yesterday and it overheated)...the fan should have kicked in but didnt im assuming....they were stuck in traffic and were not moving......

in terms of the fans not coming on, yeah i think i have the same problem as some days the fan runs on, and others when the car is much hotter i get nothing...

i'm going to try and get a look this weekend if i have time.

Just spoke to vw and the relay and the guy wasnt sure which one it could be. he said that it was going to cost 200 and something bucks?!!

do you rememeber which relay you changed? sometimes even when the car is hot and i turn her off, i wait to hear the fan but very rarely do i hear it after ive stopped.

what does it mean when the water/steam comes out from the valve on the expansion tank?

for $200 i'd rather bypass the factory setup and get a individual controller.

will report back when i know more.
