Middle console

Hey guys, just curious - the rear middle console that covers the handbrake lever, how many different kinds were there?

I've got this...


... but I just found pics of this:


I've checked and yes, they're both on Mk3's.

Are they the only two differing consoles? Which models did the latter come on?

I think the second one was for the US market. Might be wrong.

Ray the second one is from a US model I want that one as it looks better and I want one.

It comes up more and looks as it has more room.

i have also seen one that may have come from a passat that had a arm rest with a hidy hole.

Between the Euro and US models, I wouldn't mind either, but just that I purchased a leather shift and handbrake boot and the handbrake boot doesn't quite reach down all the way It looks like crap at the moment. Funny thing was, I bought them from a UK shop, and I'm sure UK Mk3 Golf's are Euro-spec too? Oh well.

And with the handbrake, mine doesn't lean to the right. Fairly straight...

Hidy hole would be awesome, especially the arm rest!

my handbrake used to lean a lilttle to one side on my mk2, but with some gentle persuasion it can be moved to sit in the middle (i just gave it a gentle tug and its perfect.)

while were on the subject of centre consoles, my ashtray doesnt stay closed(the rear one).....any ideas?

Even better when you have a glovebox a real one

YOu can get them cheap, I try to minimalise stuff that I need in the car, much cleaner look
