      Option 1 garage

Contact them & ask what options they can offer

they go on tomorrow, will let you know how i go. i got a bit of scrubbing from 215/40/17 if i had some load. infact when i moved up to brisbane i had to leave some stuff in melbourne because it was so bad. but it was fine with no load.

im hoping these will be alot better.

I find the big name chains like uncle Bob are normally over priced .

only thing i can think of with the bob jane etc places are the whole interest free thing hence the prices... i had the same size tyre mentioned above in the falken ze912's on my old car and bob jane quoted $249 a corner, got them from a small place around the corner for $179 !!

$500 is a bloody good deal tho mate, well done

just got home from option 1.

got federal 595 205/40/17 for $108 a corner. $470 all up fit and balance. so im pretty stoked. im no tyre snob so my opinion probably isnt valuable at all. but they are worlds apart from my previous tyre (though they were bald and way under pressurised so incredibly sluggy)

to my eye it looks like ive gained at least 10mm clearance (which makes sense) so im pretty happy. any way it feels a zillion times better but that may be a placebo from the happy endorphins because of the absolute steal they ended up being.

if you are in brizzy i highly recommend option 1. probably the nicest, most genuine people ive ever come across in a workshop. plus they have a huge tv and xbox to pass the time while your car is getting worked on

a pic of the shiny new rubber. definitely makes me look faster at least.

I have to recommend Nexen 3000s. I have had em on a couple of Audis and they are quiet, grippy, high speed rated and not expensive.
They also do good sizes, like 205/45/16 and 215/40/16, even 205/40/16.

The only good thing with Bob Jane is that they have massive buying power, so can get you a great deal if they like the sound of you.
I`d ring around and compare quotes.

That's what I thought too until I went to replace my Bridgestone Adrenalins last year and found them difficult to find because of a national shortage. Ended up having to pick them up one by one from different tyre dealers. Got one for $240, two for $225 and one from Bob Jane for $189. They even had to truck it in from another town. I kept saying, "Are you sure you're quoting the right price?" lol

I still don't like dealing with them though.
The first set I had cost $240 each through Jax Tyres so it seems like the price of them is coming down.
