Hey guys, MattyT, we should meet up for a hills drive some time... I have a few mates with dubs who meet up regularly... Do you know Paul with the yellow colour concept VR6? He's also got a MK IV R32.
rayray, the second 2 pics were taken by my mate on his SLR, nothing like having a pro photographer on your cruises... Thanks to Ben... who happens to drive Polo GTI.
The car only really looks clean in Ben's shots, he did some polish effect in photoshop, I really dont want to run of the list of work the car needs

Haha fair enough mate, but it does make your Mk3 look schmick
Are all your other VW buddies on this forum? If not, im sure VWW wouldn't mind some more dubbers from the west
It's so nice to see another Mk3 GL on the forum. Means my little terror won't feel so lost among all these sexy fast VR6's...
It's a clean looking car, regardless of the photochopping Look after it...
Welcome to the forum. You'll find a lot of helpful advice, tips and emergency parts (when things break - and they DO) as well as a pleasant, easy going attitude you won't find on the tex. It's one big dub luvin community, enjoy!!!
Haha, VR's don't pull away that hard in the twisties you know...
As for the tail lights, I'm pretty sure they are stock. I haven't done anything to them, and I bought the car of a chick who had it since new, and only sold it to get an auto Polo because her tendonitis meant she couldn't drive a manual. She didn't look like the modding type...

With the stock suspension the VR6 is a little misbalanced (with the big heavy engine over the front wheels) and overall is considerably heavier (GL 1087kg : VR6 1207kg). They don't handle as nimbly as the little 2L it's true, but despite that, I wouldn't say no to the extra HP...
Off topic perhaps, but have you thought about mods to wind up the little 8V? It's relatively easy to get over 100kw out of them with the right cam, CAI, exhaust and chip. I know that Oettinger do a complete kit if you are too lazy to put it together yourself
With decent power and the better handling IMO a GL could just about keep up with a VR around the track, or in the twisties. You could enjoy a play around with ur mate in the yellow colour concept, and beat him...
Sorry to follow you off track golfer, I've got a 97 GL too. Just curious if you have used the Oettinger performance upgrade you refered to? How did it affect the driveability? e.g. lumpy at low revs ect??
