  • Which lip is this?

    Hey guys,

Am looking at getting a different lip for a little more ground clearance. ****ty VR one is cracked already.

Am thinking of this option here:
    Volkswagen Jetta III VR6 12v > Exterior > Body > ES#305135 MK3 Lower Bumper Spoiler - Left - 1HM805903B41

Can anybody confirm if this is the NA Vento lip?
Do they know how much (if at all) shallower it is?

I know lips are now in the consumables column, and id much rather smash them than gearboxes at this point in time, but this was at 60kmh down a dip in the road and i still cracked it.

    TIA

Yep, appears to be the same as the NA front spoiler. How much is shipping on that? If its cheaper to ship 2, I might be keen mate

Cool, thanks James. Just had no comparison so wasn't sure.

Ah could be 3 in the box

I'll email ECS and work it out mate.

they will end up being about $200US including shipping for both a left and right side piece according to the website. its about $800US to land 5 of them it looks like. Not too bad for an OEM part certainly not cheap.

Thats a bit of a joke when you can get a strut brace sent from the US (heavier and bulkier and longer) for $50 (delivery).

Can probably manage that, as long as it is shallower! lol

ECS didnt want to neg lower on price to save with shipping or anything so I think it's best just to get them yourself....?

Yep. I still have the original one i put on my mk3 after all these years. It has survived hitting a kangaroo and has been dragged along the ground so much that the underside is almost worn all the way through to a hole! Its a shame they dont make them ones anymore.

I think woody even managed to drive over the top of his one and it lived.

Haha yeah but while I'm stuffing them I'm not paying VWA 165 a side for one.

I bought a VR lip off eBay ages ago and its been great. Diven over it, ripped it off too many times and worn holes through the bottom.
