  • How high is too high for Kilometers.

    Hello,

Just a quick intro. My name is Denis and i'm from the ozaudi forum and currently selling my car to get a Vr6(exhaust note, enough said). Now, All the ones i've looked at have had high k's and i was wondering at what point should i draw the line and not even look at.

    BTW i would swap my a4 b5 for a vr6

Welcome pokiou. As much as I hate to admit it, going from your B5 to a Mk3 VR6 is a step backwards! But your reason for doing so is an undeniable one haha.

I've seen duds as low as 120,000km, and have seen others past 200,000km and still going strong. It's all down to the service history and when each component was done. Stick to VWs recommendations for replacements of parts and you'll be rewarded with a good running car. Unfortunately this doesn't happen a lot, what with the cost of parts and the labour involved for some of the more commonly replaced jobs. I'd say use the car's service history as an indication of its worthiness, not solely the mileage.

    Good luck with the search!

Completely dependent on service history as far as I'm concerned, mine turned to **** at about 125,000.
Best/only good thing about the car was exhaust note.

if its done more than 200+ id get the timing chains done if it hasnt already been replaced
if the chains let go... the motor goes
              good luck with the search
