  • Can someone with a manual VR6 do me a favour?

I'm in the process of configuring a shifter system in my Mk1 and have run into some differences between the linkage and bracket on my hybrid 02A/J gearbox.

Here's a pic I have of the 'standard' 02A cable bracket - the cables are mounted side-by-side:

I'm hoping someone can confirm that this exactly what their bracket looks like (or even better post a pic of it). Can you also get the part number off the bracket as I need to order one!

Many e-Beers to anyone who helps :-p

    Cheers

If you still need a pic or number can get tomorrow.02j has different one to suit the shifter tower on the box.02a will work but not so well.

I've just discovered that most late 02As actually use the 02J linkage tower. I knew my CDA 'box had 02J diff flanges as standard, and that the cables had different ends, but it turns out the mechanism is actually 100% 02J, rather than about 50%, which is what I'd thought from having a quick look at 02Js previously. I've since had to use an AGC-code cable bracket from a Passat and modify the 02J linkage to alter the leverage ratio back to original 02A specs. The CDA is basically an 02J in an 02A casing - good old VW!
